Connecting insights to help teams build digital solutions and expressive visual experiences for communities

sharmarke.design.gif

I am a generalist by nature, skilled in turning an incubated team’s vision into a thriving digital entity—guiding the process from brand identity through digital experience. My approach draws on critical race theory and responsible data practices to drive purposeful, functional design. My hands-on experience spans collaborations with groups ranging from local community development corporations to multinational social enterprises and non-profits, all focused on creating meaningful connections with the communities they serve.

Who Hires Me?

My clients are people who seek fresh perspectives and value constructive critique in their work and research about the communities they want to engage. They look for a holistic thinker who understands the data life cycle of digital products and services—someone who can connect their ecosystem to strategy that aligns with their business model. Typically, they have a strong grasp of their audience and are looking for guidance in developing a thoughtful, strategic visual language. I prioritize meaningful progress over unnecessary process, focusing on bringing design and projects to a point that feels genuine and right.

About me?

I’m a Strategist with a background that began in marketing as an Analyst and has since evolved into digital design and product development. My foundation in traditional design education allows me to blend behavioural patterns, predictive models, and design principles to influence online user behaviour and actions. I lead and collaborate with flexible teams across the full design and development cycle, focusing on user experience for digital initiatives while working closely with product and brand communication teams. My work helps clients and organizations design, plan, and execute ideas that foster authenticity and socially informed engagement with their audiences and users.

Why is this important?

As organizations encounter new versions of data and knowledge across numerous touch-points, it becomes challenging to identify social blind spots and consistently retrace the logic that informed each insight, decision, or design. I study how these analytical and strategic tactics are embedded into today’s technology—and foresee how they might evolve—so that clients remain flexible and creative. My goal is to help deliver compelling digital experiences for those striving to build better solutions.
